Handwriting Groups

Handwriting groups are held during school holidays from Tuesday – Thursday. These groups facilitate development of pencil grip, handwriting legibility (sizing, pencil pressure, letter formation, spacing), writing skills (idea generation, planning, sentence structure, text type structure) and editing skills. Specific dates and times for these groups are announced towards the end of each school term. These groups are targeted toward specific age ranges, depending on demand. To participate in these groups an enquiry is required as groups fill quickly. Please contact our office to find out about upcoming groups.


Social Skills Holiday Groups

Social skills groups are held during some school holidays from Tuesday – Thursday. These groups may work on skills including sharing, turn taking, joining in, making friends, conversation skills, collaborating, negotiating and working as a team. These groups are targeted toward specific age ranges, depending on demand. To participate in these groups an enquiry is required as groups fill quickly. Please contact our office to find out about upcoming groups.


Preschool Social Skills Groups

Kids Plan-it Occupational Therapy runs a preschool social skills group every Wednesday.

Who: Any child aged between 3-5 years who will be attending school in 2024 who is having difficulty with social participation at preschool, in the playground or at home.
When: Wednesdays
Where: Warriewood Clinic – located at 2204/4 Daydream Street, Warriewood.
Group size: Maximum 4 children


Kindergarten Readiness Programs

Occupational Therapy is available in the January school holidays for children transitioning to school in that year.
Our group focusses on:

  • Social skills (turn taking, waiting, interaction skills, play skills)
  • Fine motor skills (pencil grip, drawing, cutting)
  • Language development (following instructions and making friendships)
  • Oral motor skills (feeding, muscle tone and speech articulation)
  • Gross motor skills (balance, coordination, muscle tone and posture)
  • Sensory processing skills (assisting children to cope in group situations and self-calm independently when they reach sensory overload)
